Sentinals of Freedom Program

Gene has volunteered for the 'Sentinals of Freedom' program designed to assist our returning Iraq war amputee solders when they leave Walter Reed Hospital in a four year program. The program requires ten people per soldier. Each person is assigned a responsibility of, for example, to work with builders to acquire at no charge a new handicap equipped house for four years. Another is to work with auto dealers to get donated a new handicap equipped vehicle. Another is to arrange for employment, etc. My past work and interest is to arrange for their employment. The program is designed so that the former military person is self-sufficient by the end of the four year program.

When I came back from the Vietnam war I vowed that I would somehow do what I could accomplish that our future returning service personel would not be forgotten when they came back. This is my opportunity to make good on that vow.
